Mike Painter runs a citizen group, Californian’s for Western Wilderness. This is a politically active group fighting to preserve Western wilderness. In today’s world, it is of utmost importance to make a personal effort to protect our existing wilderness lands. Wilderness and the laws that underlie their protection are under attack, especially the Antiquities Act, which was established in 1906 to protect cultural and natural resources. Mr. Painter shares a story about Wangari Matthai, an activist that has influenced him. He also provides valuable tips on how to make the “system” work for you.
