A self-described urban environmentalist, Marilyn Price wanted to start a non-profit organization, Trips for Kids. She wasn’t sure about it, but decided to do it anyway and it has thrived under her management. Ms. Price takes young disadvantaged kids for mountain bike rides especially those who cannot afford to buy or ride one. The organization has served 140,000 kids. Trips are taken to many natural places. Trips for Kids manages a bike shop where kids can volunteer to learn how to repair bikes, earn points to bikes and parts and more.
