Alvin Duskin: Launching the Wind Industry
Alvin Duskin shares his experience in the start to advocate for wind power in the late-1970s and early-1980s. It started by getting some energy tax credits for solar and wind. His company, U.S. Windpower, found important resources like the Pacheco Pass and then the Altamont Pass. Mr. Duskin started building the first ever wind power in the Altamont Pass. This would never have occurred without working with Huey Johnson, California Resources Secretary, where the state gave him 5,000 acres and a contract for electricity. The rest is history.
